Moissanite is much more affordable than diamonds at the same size. Price depends on size, shape, and color (colorless or near colorless).

Natural diamonds are top dollar. Formed deep within the Earth over billions of years, they're much scarcer than moissanite or lab-grown diamonds, driving up their price. On top of that, the 4Cs and cut further affect their value.

Color

Modern technology allows moissanite to be grown not just colorless or near colorless, but also in a range of captivating hues like teal, gray, green, yellow, and black.

Natural diamonds aren't just colorless! Trace elements like nitrogen and boron can create a variety of colors, including pink, blue, and yellow.

Brilliance

Moissanite's brilliance rivals diamonds, but packs over 2x the fiery sparkle. This "fire" shines brighter in stones above 1 carat (due to a high refractive index).

Moissanite outshines diamonds in brilliance and fire, but diamonds still sparkle with dispersion and scintillation. (Refractive index: 2.417-2.419)

Durability

With a Mohs hardness of 9.25, moissanites are highly durable and resist scratches, making them a great choice for everyday jewelry.

Scientifically rated as the hardest natural mineral (10 on the Mohs scale), diamonds offer durability, making them a popular selection.

Sourcing

Moissanite is grown in controlled laboratories by professionals. Once formed, they're cut and polished.
